Mifare PROX and SmartMX
![]() |
Designed to meet the requirements of next-generation smart cards, Mifare® PROX is targeted at dual interface multi-service cards. It provides the high security required for banking, e-commerce and secured network access applications, combined with the convenience and speed needed in contactless applications such as access control, transport and e-purse. Reasons enough for Integrated Engineering to be one of the first companies to make Mifare® PROX available for you.
SmartMX
The latest addition to the contactless Smartcard family is the SmartMX. SmartMX cards use state-of-the-art technology to provide the highest transaction speed, combined with large storage capacity and low power consumption. Fully compatible with the 'WE' family and Mifare® PROX ranges, SmartMX meets the needs of high-volume, cost-sensitive, single- and multi application markets such as banking cards, SIM cards, pay TV subscription cards, e-business and public transportation.
Universal target platform
Ideally suited for high-level languages and operating systems, such as Java or MULTOS, Mifare® PROX and SmartMX have become the target platform for dual interface multi-service cards. The world’s first products to satisfy the banking industry’s requirements fully – including EMV (the Europay, Mastercard and Visa standard for credit and debit) and CEPS (Common Electronic Purse Standard) – Mifare® PROX and SmartMX enable service providers to offer user-friendly e-purse schemes. SmartMX adds even more encryption possibilities, making it the perfect technology for very high secure applications. The Mifare® PROX cards available at Integrated Engineering are equipped with JCOP, the JavaCard Operating System.
Compatibility and high security
Building on the huge installed base of the Mifare® interface platform, Mifare® PROX and SmartMX enable service providers to introduce even more convenient ticketing systems and payment concepts. The high security (PKI and 3-DES) and the extended functionality of Mifare® PROX and SmartMX allows for new service ideas such as the integration of loyalty concepts, access to vending machines, or using an e-purse to pay fares instead of pre-paid electronic ticketing.
